Hello, my name is Carter Schmitt, I am a seminarian for the diocese of Lafayette, and am very excited to be with you all this summer. I just finished my first year at Kinrick-Glennon Seminary in Saint Louis. I am a 24 year-old graduate from IU with a degree in psychology. Before coming to seminary my desire was to get a PhD in clinical psychology. Some of my hobbies are photography, cycling and reading. Having come to experience the beauty of the church and the love of Christ in my life, I couldn’t help but decide to enter the seminary. Again, I am very excited to have been assigned to St. Isidore the Farmer Pastorate. I greatly desire to meet new people and draw people closer to the love of Christ, so if you see me around, please say hi! Yours in Christ, Carter Schmitt

This Christmas season, some of us are experiencing a sadness due to the absence of a loved one or dear friend. Instead of a heart of filled with the joy of the Christ Child, some are filled with sorrow and the lingering song of loss. Grieving with Great Hope is a six -week program that offers anyone grieving to discover the journey of hope. This is not a program that eliminates your grief or encourages you to “forget it” and “move on”…THIS PROGRAM OFFERS A WAY TO GRIEVE WITH GREAT HOPE. We will begin Monday, January 29 at 6pm (EST) at St. John Hall in Earl Park. Please consider registering for this program. Call the pastorate office or email Bridget Schlebecker [email protected] You are not alone.
